San Diego Fantasy Body Paint

Hello and welcome to the virtual home of Skin Tight Body Art., San Diego, California.

Skin Tight was born in 2003 after seeing Star Shields using airbrush and stencils to paint faces at Street Scene Music Festival. I was in complete awe, and the next week purchased the gear and completed a full day  "how-to" workshop. Star invited me to join his team, so I was fortunate to work at many fun events in  Los Angeles painting temporary tattoos. His friend Dan Turbeville was looking to add Airbrush Body Art to his County Fair Henna Booth, which led me to vend at Street Fairs, attend Body Art Conventions and Festivals around the world!

  Since I was a child, I was fascinated with color, light, shadow & form. My mom said I would amuse myself alone for hours,  turning my little 45rpm record player into a "spin art" maker, or sandwiching materials together to feed into my toy slide projector to cast abstract designs onto the wall. I got my first camera at the age of 7, and would dress up my friends to role play scenarios like cops & robbers, or fancy tea party ladies. and do little photo shoots.

 Luckily my mom was artsy, loved to paint, and took us kids to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art most Sundays. We'd linger in her favorite wing - Modern Art. She'd point to the abstract-expressionist works and say "we can do that!" We had Picasso-esque & Franz Kline-style paintings all over the house - mostly her work. Out & about, she would shape her hands to frame nature which fostered my ability to build an Artist Eye. 

Divine creative essence fills my waking & dreaming life - and I crave co-creating with you to give birth to outrageous and beautiful Living Art!
